Looking out of a Cessna is much more frightening than actually jumping and free-falling (yup, been there, done that too!)  I remember standing on the threshold of the plane at the open door looking down.  My hands clutching the door frame, with the wind blowing in my face. I can’t breathe. I know that I cannot hesitate, so I jump.  And then it’s done and I can breathe again and take time to enjoy the amazing view. 
 
We’ve also taken a leap here at myPractice.  We've recently merged with a boutique management consultancy, BottomLine Group (BLG). 

You never really know in life where change is going to take you – you can hypothesize, but in the end it is part of a greater journey that simply continues to be played out.  I could not have anticipated the response to myPractice's combination with BLG, but it’s been met with overwhelmingly affirming reactions. 

In a former life, all I did was mergers and acquisition (I was ‘the’ merger queen). Our decision to join BLG was born of the premise, as in all mergers, that 1+1=3; that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  We’ve been able to reposition ourselves with a powerful learning offering that is broader and visionary, in fact, much sooner than we could have accomplished on our own.
 
In my new role as Partner at BLG I recently facilitated a visioning workshop for a client and I told this client - as I tell all my clients - that a company’s vision and mission must be the anchor to good strategy and execution. 

When I turn that thinking upon ourselves, I see that any apprehension that I had came from the “view out of the airplane” and that our merger is anchored in a solid vision of the future of who we want to be.  This has always been evidenced by our consultative approach with our clients and now with BottomLine Group we can offer much more.

For us at myPractice the parachute is open and the view is grand!  I am enjoying these first months of transition speaking passionately about our expanded capabilities and bright future.
